Chick’n & (not) Bacon Pasta

This blog has moved to http://jenny-marie.co.uk!

Thanks!

I have a confession to make: I didn’t watch a horror film today….. I know this is a pretty heinous state of affairs considering my Vegan MOFO theme. Actually, the only film I watched today was Wings of Desire, which is not a horror film AT ALL. I’m definitely going to make up for this tomorrow, but in the meantime, I do have food pictures at least….

My friend Aleks and me went for a wee spot of brunch at Oddest in Chorlton this morning. The poor folks hadn’t received their tofu delivery, but they still made me a pretty tasty breakfast.

I spent the evening at the Green Trail event, giving a cooking demo. By the time I got home I was ready to stuff my face with carbs, and threw this together…

I cooked up some pasta, and a “what’s in the fridge” medley of onion, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms and some chopped Redwoods rashers. I threw in a big ol’ sprinkling of nutritional yeast. I also cooked up a Fry’s schnitzel, and sliced it on the top. A bit of Tesco smoked soya cheese finished it off. And then it finished me off…..

Normal business will be resumed tomorrow as I have a whole afternoon to cram a couple of horror films in while I continue my unpacking! Still, it’s getting there…..I found my fridge magnets, and that’s one of the most important bits, right?

  1. Tesco do their own soya cheese now? I really need to go back to the UK to do some serious shopping soon.

Did you like Wings of Desire? I watched it again the other day for the first time in years and really enjoyed it.

Those mushrooms and that pasta are both seriously making my mouth water.

    /Disjointed thought collection.

  2. Tesco have a whole 'free from' section now with milks, cheeses (hard and soft) and other bits & bobs. I believe the hard cheeses are made by Sheese, and I've met some people who didn't like them, but I enjoy the smoked one 🙂

I *love* Wings of Desire – it's an all time favourite of mine. A really beautiful film. I'd lent my blu-ray copy to a friend and just got it back so decided to give it a watch. I'm also a massive Nick Cave fan, so that helps too 😀
